Have you by any chance updated to windows 7 lately only to find out that you don’t have any sound on your computer anymore??

Or maybe, you just went down to the PC store and got yourself a new game, only to find out that there is no sound playing?

Or, finally you just hear sound now and then after you installed  Windows 7 on your computer?

Before you go crazy, try to download new drivers for your sound card, since this is usually the solution for the above problems!!

But first let me tell you what sound card drivers are..

The sound card drivers are actually just a little software, that helps your computer and your operation system (in this case, windows 7) to communicate!

With every new component to your computer, any change of software as well as any update to any of the systems may make the drivers on it obsolete, and in that case you need to update them.

this is usually the case right after any change, but with time, when your updates and changes to your system are less frequent, so is the need for you to update drivers on your computer. don’t forget that almost any software and any hardware installed on your computer needs a driver!

So lets find out how we will download your sound card drivers!

First of all, we need to find out what kind of sound card you have on your computer so that we download the correct driver.

First you have to click on the start button, and from there search for the device manager in the search box.

Then , inside the device manager click on the sound, video and game devices folder.

here you will find the sound cards manufacturer, as well as the model of your sound card.

Make sure you note this information down.

Now we can start hunting down your new drivers!

Just go to your favorite search engine (Google or similar), and search for your manufacturers home page.(realtek, turtle beach or similar)

After you have found the Home page of your sound cards manufacturer things should be easy.

Drivers are usually found inside support or downloads. every manufacturers site is different so you will have to do some searching around yourself.

Go through the list of downloads available for sound cards until you find the driver you need to download on your computer, and download it.

Remember to save it somewhere you can find it again, since you will soon need it.

I usually just download it to my desk top, you can always move it when you are done.

That,s it. Now you only have a few steps left!

Go back to the device manager and to the sound, video and game controllers folder.

double click on sounds.

Click on upgrade driver button.

Browse to your desktop (or to where you downloaded your new driver) and update your drivers.

At this point, windows will probably ask you to restart your computer.
I reccommend that you do just that right away.

You should now have solved your sound problems on your computer.

happy gaming!!
