Microphones cost a lot of money. Most folks will spend lots on equipment to chase a sound. Beginners and musicians are broke. So, when they do get money for a mic, what to buy? In this video, I have chased down the cost of various mics that are used in home recording and by road warriors. These are the most common. For blues harp players get a SM57, Green Bullet, Astatic or equal. For mic-ing an amp, Audio Technica AT2020 or Oktava MK219 would be the most affordable. To mic an amp you want fidelity for a reasonable price. For blues harp, you want something that you can overdrive and has a limited frequency response. The Keal Case is highly recommended.
