So, I am really a new comer to this recording world. Let's just say I'm also total beginner in computer thing ( because I don't really understand technology. I just know how to operate my computer the way I like it ).

My sister has a great voice. It's just we don't have great equipments to go with her voice. I want to have some home recording studio that is really affordable for someone who doesn't even start working yet, but soon will. So, I do some searching. All I see is people recommending this Pro Tools thing.

My questions are : What is this Pro Tools? M-powered? Mbox? Avid? How much do they cost? Is it software or hardware or both? What do I need to operate it? What do I need to record with good quality? What is audio interface? What other equipments do I need? et cetera.

If you can, please just tell me EVERYTHING ( I really meant it ) about this Pro Tools, because I understand nothing. I live in Asia, and in a really not-high-tech country, Indonesia. So I couldn't ask other people.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, intel core duo 2.93 GHz, RAM 2Gb, and 64-bit OS.. If you know how to help me and you want to know other specs, tell me where and how to find it and I'll list it for you.

I really hope that if you want to answer, please don't use too hard terms. If you have to, could you also explain what is it? English is not my first language. So,it's kinda hard for me.
